Rachel Lester

Senior Solicitor

Email   rachel@ashbycohen.co.uk

I qualified as a solicitor in 1999, having graduated in law from King's College London.

I have specialised in employment law since 2000 and joined Levenes Employment in July 2014 (having previously worked at top-tier ranked firms and in-house for Government). I am a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

I advise employers and employees on all aspects of employment law, but my particular expertise includes litigating complex discrimination and whistleblowing claims before the Employment Tribunal; negotiating severance packages for senior executives; and advising on restructuring and redundancy processes, the operation of early release schemes, restrictive covenants and TUPE.

I have acted for employers across the private and not for profit sectors, including law firms, accountancy practices, consultancies, estate agents, technology companies, colleges, charities and housing associations.

I have written on employment law for Lexis PSL, a specialist resource for lawyers. I have also delivered training in employment law issues to a wide range of employers, including members of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and small businesses participating in the accelerator programme run by Mass Challenge.

Outside of work I enjoy cycling, travel, film and eating out, not necessarily in that order!
